The Event

We are inviting all Yalies and Friends to join Project Kickstart (PKS) for a gathering this Saturday at the Yale Center Beijing. This would be a great opportunity to better understand PKS, participate in discussions with them, and think about becoming a mentor.

In the spirit of Yale's long time interest in China's educational and cultural concerns, PKS has provided the first year's tuition and expenses at Beijing universities for qualified students since 2005, giving them the kickstart they need to launch their university career. The PKS Committee members help mentor these students through college and beyond. By now, we have a total of 29 recipients including alumni. We added a number of workshops and discussion panels this year.

With the support of the Yale Center Beijing, PKS will hold a gathering themed around adjusting to college. Dr. WANG Bing (Peking University) will share and discuss “Adjusting to College Life – A Good Beginning Equals Halfway to Success.” Some major points of discussions are relationship building, career development, dating, etc. We invite all Yale alumni and friends to share your experiences with the new students.

After the discussion, the Yale Center invites all attendees to participate in the 11th workshop of the Future Forum Workshop. The Future Forum - Understanding the Future is a series of workshops that provides a platform for the public to think critically about the relationship between cutting edge technology and commercial value and to discuss the trends of future. The Future Forum founder and its board are leaders from many different industries and have all participated in the Davos Forum.
