The Event

How much is it a factor that early childhood circumstances determine health disparities in old age? What can we do to enhance our health through our own? Meanwhile, what aspects can public policy pay attention to and promote?

In this event, Xi Chen, the assistant professor of Global Health Policy and Economics at Yale University, will interpret the early life factors such as circumstances and nutrition, and share the possible policies and business values caused by the most recent science research.

The Speaker

Xi Chen
Assistant Professor of Global Health Policy and Economics, Yale University

Xi Chen is an assistant professor of Global Health Policy and Economics at Yale University, a faculty fellow at the Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS), the Yale Climate Change and Health Initiative, the Yale Macmillan Center, and a faculty advisor of the Yale-China Association. He is a PEPPER Scholar, and co-leads academic events for young scholars at Yale Program on Aging.

Chen holds Cornell University applied economics Ph.D. Currently, his areas of interest involve Health, Labor, Development Economics, and Applied Econometrics and Quantitative Methods. His research focuses on public policies related to health over the life cycle, population aging, climate change and health, and quality of life.

Chen is the President of the China Health Policy and Management Society (CHPAMS), fellow and cluster lead at the Global Labor Organization (GLO), a grant reviewer of the National Sciences Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), and a reviewer of more than 30 peer-reviewed journals. He also has been a delegate of U.S. - China Healthcare Dialogue (Track II).
