The Event

Nicholas Christakis, bestselling author, social scientist, and physician at Yale University, will talk about his new book, Apollo's Arrow: The Profound and Enduring Impact of Coronavirus on the Way We Live. In this book, he offers a cogent, deeply informative overview of the coronavirus pandemic, taking into consideration the biology of the pathogen and the social, economic, psychological, and political impacts of the virus on society.

Nicholas Christakis
Sterling Professor of Social and Natural Science, Yale University

Nicholas Christakis is a physician and sociologist who explores the ancient origins and modern implications of human nature. He directs the Human Nature Lab at Yale University, where he is Sterling Professor of Social and Natural Science in the Departments of Sociology, Medicine, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Biomedical Engineering, and the School of Management. He is the Co-Director of the Yale Institute for Network Science, the co-author of Connected, and the author of Blueprint. His newest book, Apollo's Arrow: The Profound and Enduring Impact of Coronavirus on the Way We Live, was recently published in October 2020.

Inc. the Yale Center Beijing is pleased to host the Greenberg Distinguished Colloquium, which will convene thought leaders from all sectors who, in the spirit of Mr. Greenberg, play pivotal roles in building bridges among China, the U.S., and the rest of the world.

Mr. Greenberg has been a member of Yale Center Beijing’s Executive Council and retired as the Chairman and CEO of American International Group (AIG). In 2018, he was awarded the China Reform Friendship Medal.
