Yale Center Beijing, along with the Yale, Brandeis, and Johns Hopkins Alumni Clubs jointly invite you to enjoy the cross-cultural comedy and Xiangsheng of Jesse Appell.

Event Description

Jesse Appell is a Fulbright alumnus specializing in Chinese comedy and a disciple of famous Xiangsheng "crosstalk" master Ding Guangquan. His work has been featured on Western and Chinese media alike for its unique comedic style.

This show will feature Jesse's original standup comedy as well as a traditional Xiangsheng performance.

Following the show, Jesse and his Xiangsheng partner will engage the audience in a Q&A about comedy, culture, and how laughter can bring peoples together.

The show will be entirely in Chinese; Q&A will be in English and Chinese.
