The Welcome Reception is open ONLY to newly accepted students and scholars, Yale alumni and current students.
The Alumni Panel Discussion is open to all, including non-Yale affiliates.

The Event

Please join us in welcoming newly accepted students and scholars (including undergrads, graduate and professional students and Yale World Fellows) entering Yale this fall, as well as new Beijing arrivals and interns. We look forward to meeting new members, alumni, friends, as well as all those who are interested in Yale. We will also host a panel discussion with five Yale alumni to share about their experiences at Yale and their career development.

The Panelists

Peilin JIA '96

Ms. Jia joined CreditEase in 2018 and is responsible for investor relations. Prior to joining CreditEase, she worked at Paul Weiss, McKinsey & Company, Jones Day and Macquarie Securities, and also founded a financial advisory company specializing in fundraising and M&A. She has over 10 years of experience in corporate finance and extensive experience in advising start-ups in the fintech and consumer space. Ms. Jia holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Yale University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Huan GAO MA '03

Huan is Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank Beijing Branch, covering major relationships of Chinese financial institutions for business development. She joined the bank in Philadelphia and has held various positions in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, including Chief Representative of its Beijing Rep Office. She has B.A. degree in English from Fudan University, M.A. degree in International Relations from Yale, and completed Finance and Accounting Program at the Wharton School. She also writes book reviews and essays for The Paper etc.

Qingyuan WANG MBA '11

Mr. Qingyuan Wang graduated from the Tsinghua School of Architecture and obtained his MBA degree from the Yale School of Management in 2011. After Yale, he joined Hillhouse Capital and BCG. In 2015, he co-founded an online education start-up. During the past 4 years, he helped the firm to raise capital from angel to C round and grow into a nation-wide brand with a monetized business model. Now, he is starting his second venture with two Tsinghua graduates.

Jade Shao '15

Jade grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies & Economics. Her previous experience includes working in edtech startups and teaching K-12 English. Currently, Jade is a co-founder of MetaSchool and focused on project-based and experiential learning.

Martin Ma PhD '07

Dr. Martin Ma is founder of metaschool (www.metaschool.cn) with a vision to promote global innvoation and maker education in China. Dr. Ma holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University.
