The Event

On July 31, a longtime Broadway actor and opera singer, and a voice teacher at the Shen Curriculum for Musical Theater at Yale, Joy Hermalyn will discuss her career from the beginning through now—and how she has made her way as a Broadway actor, opera singer, and teacher of all styles. She will discuss how to navigate technique and repertoire while maintaining good vocal and mental health, as well as how to deal with the business side of performing. Interweaving lessons from her own career as a performer and teacher/coach, she will also sing and perform for the Yale Center Beijing audience.

Whether you’re a professional performer, aspiring singer, theater enthusiast, or just enjoy a good show, don’t miss this chance to hear from and watch a professional Broadway performer and opera singer up close and in person live!
