Sunday, January 31, 2016 to Saturday, February 6, 2016

YYGS-Beijing will bring together students with the drive, energy, vision, and potential to make meaningful impacts as young leaders. The program will include in-depth sessions on the United States college application process, as well as feature top Yale University professors who will introduce their fields of expertise and offer advice on how to excel at Yale and peer institutions. Participants learn to recognize and understand global issues, develop responses, and generate solutions.

YYGS-Beijing is limited to 100 participants in 9th and 10th grades, who have at least two full years remaining in high school. Applicants can be residents or citizens of any country. The application is now available, and students are required to submit a few essays along with a video response, TOEFL English-language score, resume or CV, and school transcript. YYGS-Beijing is a residential program where admitted students live together for six nights under adult supervision and attend seven full days of programming at the Yale Center Beijing. There is a $55 USD application fee, and the cost per an admitted student is $3,500 USD. Financial assistance is need-based and available to those who qualify and submit detailed supporting documentation.

Now in its fourteenth year, the Yale Young Global Scholars Program is a summer enrichment and leadership skill-building program at Yale University for outstanding high school students from around the world, many of whom are from China and elsewhere in Asia.
