The Speaker:

In April, 2015, Dr. Daniel Price embarked on a bike trip from Antarctica to Paris. Dr. Price will visit fifteen countries before he arrives at Paris, France this November, where the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) is happening. Dr. Price hopes to raise public awareness on the Conference and climate change. In the talk, Dr. Price will not only share with us interesting stories during the trip, but also share with us his insights on global climate change as an environmental scientist. Dr. Daniel Price grew up in West London. He had spent much of his time growing up sailing with his father around the British sea, where his passion for the ocean was born. At the age of 17, he enrolled in his local RNLI lifeboat crew. Later, he pursued his undergraduate studies in Marine Geography at University of Cardiff. Then he began a PhD at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, in the department “Gateway Antarctica”, where he realized that people are not only destroying the climate, but are also choosing to ignore the problems. He has been very passionate about the problem since his studies in school. Yale Center Beijing wishes to thank Shanshui Conservation Center for their generous support of the event.
