Please join us in a conversation between Robert Blocker, the Henry and Lucy Moses Dean of Music at Yale University and Malcolm McKenzie, Head of School of Keystone Academy, followed by a presentation and performance by Yale School of Music alumnus pianist Wenbin Jin.

Robert Blocker
The Henry and Lucy Moses Dean of Music and Professor of Piano, Yale School of Music and Professor of Management, Affiliate

Robert Blocker is the Henry and Lucy Moses Dean of Music at Yale, a position he has held since 1995. In 2004 the Yale University Press published The Robert Shaw Reader, edited by Robert Blocker. Now in its third printing, the volume is presently being translated for publication in Korea. In 2006 he was named honorary Professor of Piano at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He has performed throughout the world.

Malcolm McKenzie
Head of School, Keystone Academy

Malcolm Mckenzie grew up in South Africa, and studied at the Universities of Cape Town, Oxford and Lancaster. At Oxford, he was a Rhodes Scholar. He was also the first Bicentennial Fellow at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. Mr. McKenzie has been Principal of three schools, Maru-a-Pula School in Botswana, The United World College of the Atlantic in Wales, and The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, U.S. He has also served on the Board of the Round Square Association, which numbers approximately 100 schools worldwide.

Wenbin Jin
Associate Director, the Performing Arts Center, Keystone Academy, Yale M.M. & A.D. '15

Wenbin Jin graduated and earned his Master of Music and Artist diploma degree from Yale School of Music, and received two of the most prestigious school awards: the Elizabeth Parisot Prize for Best Pianist and the Yale School of Music Alumni Association Prize for the most outstanding graduating student. Since 2016, he has served as Associate Director of the Performing Arts Center at Beijing Keystone Academy. He has won many major top prizes, including at the China Shanghai International Piano Competition and the China Golden Bell National Piano Competition. Wenbin Jin has performed in prestigious venues, such as the Lincoln Center, the JFK Center for the Performing Arts, and China's National Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to solo activity, Mr. Jin is also well-known as a collaborative pianist and chamber musician.
