The Event

F&ES students are currently in Beijing on a class trip during their spring break, as part of a course titled China’s Energy and Environmental sustainability Challenge. This program examines China's economic rise in the context of its energy and environment, and the consequences of this rise within China and abroad.

On Saturday, March 25, you are invited to join in a program with current students and faculty at Yale Center Beijing. It will be a great opportunity to meet current students and learn of their experiences and course research, engage with faculty, and connect with other alumni.

The Speaker

Dr. Li Junfeng
former Director General, National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC); Ninth Annual Zayed Future Energy Prize Lifetime Achievement Award Winner

Dr. Li Junfeng is currently serving as a researcher at the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC). He is a member of the National Energy Advisory Council; the Expert-committee of the National High-tech Program; the National Environmental Scientific Committee; and the Expert-committee of the National Energy Administration Energy Internet. He also serves as a consultant on low carbon development for Beijing, Shanghai, and the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government.

In January 2017, he won the Ninth Annual Zayed Future Energy Prize Lifetime Achievement Award and from 2011-2016 he was the Director General for NCSC. From 1982 to 2011, Dr. Li Junfeng worked at the Energy Research Institute (ERI) of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and served as the Deputy Director General of ERI and as the Chair of the Academic Committee of ERI for more than 10 years.
