The Event

The First Youth Leaders Rural Revitalization Summit is co-organized by Strive for China, Yale Center Beijing, and PKU Youth Think Tank. Titled “To Know and Return to the Rural Regions,” this event aims to bring more public attention to the role youth talents play in the process of rural revitalization.

More than a year ago, a group Yale University, Peking University, and other elite institutions’ graduates went back to the rural regions of their home country, China, hoping to find a way for young talent to contribute to rural revitalization and to apply the knowledge they gained from years of schooling. On Aug 18th, they will hold the First Youth Leaders Rural Revitalization Summit at Yale Center Beijing.

This summit has invited established guests from academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and large-scale corporations, as well as those who have been devoted to rural development at different times, to share their experiences and thoughts. The organizers have also invited youth leaders from various backgrounds to participate in the debate session focused on “whether young university graduates should serve the countryside.”

We believe that “to know and feel the countryside” is the very first step in serving it.

Whether you’re a returning rural resident, young rural leader, or university student who wishes to know more about serving rural areas, as long as you care, this event is for you.
