Yale Center Beijing-Yale Club of Beijing Speaker Series: Ma Yansong, an alumnus of the Yale School of Architecture, on “Shanshui City”

The Event:

Mr. Ma will talk about “Shanshui City”, his vision to create a new balance among society, the city and the environment through new forms of architecture. 

The Speaker:

Mr. Ma Yansong is the Founder and Principal Partner, of MAD Architects.  In 2014, Ma was selected as the principal designer for Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Chicago, which made him the first Chinese architect to design overseas culture landmark.  Ma is also known for the curvaceous “Monroe Buildings” (officially the Absolute Towers), which were named the Best Tall Building in the Americas by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.  Ma holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Yale University and is currently a professor at Center for Architecture Design and Art at the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
