The Event

We are thrilled to announce a special Yale Executive Programs event at Yale Center Beijing. The Yale community is a powerful one – full of leaders ready to lead and influence change – we believe this and hope you do too. On January 18th, 2019, mingle with your Yale peers and then join a panel of experts in a discussion on supporting and developing women as leaders. The panelists will discuss women's leadership, advantages of diverse leadership, gender differences in the workplace, developing female leaders, whether the workplace is the only option for women, and more.

Xiuling Li, SOM ’09
Assistant Dean, Asia Programs, Executive Education, Yale School of Management

Ms. Xiuling Li is Assistant Dean for Asia Executive Education Programs at Yale School of Management. During her time at Yale SOM, she has built the Asia portfolio into a very robust and dynamic portfolio, and the total revenue for Asia executive education has grown more than tenfold. The theme of her career has been promoting educational and cultural exchanges and strengthening business relationships between the United States and Asian countries, especially China. Before she joined Yale School of Management, she was Director of Finance and Operations at Yale-China Association.

Sally Shan (SOM '97)
Managing Director and Head of China, HarbourVest Partners

Ms. Sally Shan focuses on private equity fund of funds investment, secondary markets and direct coinvestment deals. Prior to HarbourVest, Ms. Shan held various senior management positions in Lehman Brothers and J. P. Morgan. Ms. Shan received MBA degree from Yale School of Management in 1997. She is a member of Aspen Institute China Fellowship.

Julia Zhu (SOM '98)
CEO, Phoenix Live Entertainment Company

Ms. Julia Zhu is the co-founder and CEO of Phoenix Live Entertainment Company under Phoenix TV Group, responsible for the company’s growth strategy, investment and operation. She worked at News Corp’s subsidiary STAR Group, overseeing strategic alliance and investment across TV and digital media in China. Ms. Zhu holds MBA degree from Yale University and B.A. degree in economics from Wesleyan University.

Martin Ma (Ph.D '07)
Founder and CEO, Happy Universe

Dr. Martin Ma is founder and CEO of Happy Universe, a startup using AI and big data to help developers to do cross border mobile app publishing. Dr. Ma holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University.

Tina Tao (SOM '10)
Chief Operating Officer, Partner, Sinovation Ventures

Ms. Tina Tao serves as a COO (and Partner) of Sinovation Ventures, leading all daily operations and all the professional services teams at SV. Prior to SV, Ms. Tao had worked for years at the headquarters of, in succession, Microsoft, IBM and Google. Ms. Tao holds a B.A. and M.A. in Information Management from Peking University and a Master's in Business Administration from Yale University.
