The Event

This talk introduces a research study on US higher education content using big data and machine learning techniques, conducted by two economists from Yale University, Professors Barbara Biasi and Song Ma. The research studies millions of university course syllabi and compares their contents—the study shows how universities differ in their knowledge provision and the underlying economic reasons; the study also explores the implications on students’ long-term success. The talk has implications on university curriculum design and students’ education choices. There will be time for a Q&A session after the talk.
