The Event

In a mere two months, ChatGPT rapidly acquired 100 million users, triggering heated discussions on all sides. Designed to respond in a natural and intuitive way, it has numerous potential uses across various industries, including healthcare, education, marketing, and technology. How can ChatGPT be so powerful? What opportunities and challenges will it bring to different industries? How will it promote change and model innovation? On March 30, Yale alumni and leaders in related fields will share their latest thoughts and observations about ChatGPT.

Dejing Dou '04 PhD
Partner & Director, BCG
Chief Data Scientist, BCG in Greater China

Dejing Dou is a Partner and Director at BCG, Chief Data Scientist at BCG in Greater China, and an Adjunct Professor at Tsinghua University. He was the Head of Big Data Lab (BDL) and Business Intelligence Lab (BIL) at Baidu Research, and previously a tenured Full Professor in the Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Oregon. He was a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford’s Center for Biomedical Informatics Research during 2012-2013. Professor Dou received his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University in 1996 and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2004. His research areas include artificial intelligence, data mining, data integration, natural language processing (NLP), and health informatics. Dejing Dou has published more than 200 research papers with more than 6,500 Google Scholar citations. He is a senior member of AAAI, ACM, and IEEE.

Jie Zhou CS '02
Founder, Langtaojin Ltd.

Jie Zhou is the Founder of Langtaojin Ltd., which built the "She Community," the largest female community app in China, and established the Langtaojin performance-based ad network. He now focuses on the virtual world area. Prior to starting his company, he served as a technical director at Google, and as an early member of the global advertising team, participating in the development of various major aspects of Google's advertising business. In 2006, he was invited by Dr. Kai-Fu Lee to join the Google China team and was in charge of the technical development of Google's local product line.

Daniel Sun
COO, Emotibot

Daniel Sun, COO of Emotibot, is responsible for constructing the Emotibot sales system, establishing and maintaining ecological channels, and implementing AI industry. With over 20 years of experience in IT and cloud computing business, he focuses on enterprise industry landing. Previously, he served as Vice President of LeTV, CEO of LeTV Cloud, and Director of IBM Cloud Greater China. During his 10-year tenure at IBM, he led the implementation of IBM cloud products in China, video PaaS and SaaS marketing, IOT smart home product development, and strategic alliances with industry enterprises.

Steven Chang
Senior Advisor, McKinsey
Former Corporate Vice President, Tecent

Steven Chang is currently Senior Advisor at McKinsey, specializing in Chinese Internet Ecosystem, digital transformation, marketing/advertising, content creation, new retail, and eCommerce. In 2010, he was appointed CEO of ZenithOptimedia Greater China, responsible for company development in China. Previously, as Corporate Vice President of Tencent (2014-2018), Steven was in charge of online media marketing solutions and the advertising business of Online Media Group (OMG) of Tencent, with a special eye on the alignment of Tencent Video, Mobile, Portal, and Social Advertising (including Wechat ecosystem) for both brand and performance advertising. Steven focuses on the application of integrating technology, data, and content to form innovative business solutions for different categories of clients. Steven also has intense interest in exploring Generative AI and Metaverse opportunities for various clients.

Helen Sun is currently the general manager of the industrial investment department of Internet 3.0 at Zhongguancun Tongli and the chair of the professional committee on metaverse and Innovation Industry at Zhongguancun Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Association. She is responsible for the operation of the digital industrial zones, the operation of the science and technology innovation fund, the operation of the professional committee on metaverse and innovation industry, and the operation of the digital industry technology platforms. Helen also serves as president of the Yale Club of Beijing. She worked for Baidu and Huawei and its subsidiaries for many years, where she was responsible for strategy, industry research, product & operation, and procedure & quality.
