The Event

Former U.S. President Donald Trump won another four-year presidential term in the White House with a victory in the 2024 U.S. national election and will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States of America on January 20, 2025. What does Trump’s victory say about the US and what does his election mean for the future of the US? What changes can we expect? And with the United States being one of the world’s most influential countries, what are the implications of Trump’s victory for international affairs?

On December 2, Alan Gerber, Sterling Professor of Political Science at Yale University, will discuss what lessons can be drawn from the results of this U.S. election and speculate about what the results mean for the next few years of politics and policy making.
